Computers have been a powerful tool for businesses, but often computers have just been in the way for individuals... especially individuals in those businesses. I have a unique combination of social and technical skills that I offer you to make computers work for you.
Hobbies and Personal Life
I enjoy dancing. My friends and I put together many fun and energetic dance performances that we show to the public at community events. I also regularly attend weekly contra dances, swing dances, and salsa dances. As you can see, this is a passion of mine.
Another passion of mine is spiritual development. I enjoy exploring the philosophies and beliefs of religion... but more importantly, I like to put to practice the good practices I come across. I regularly meditate and am part of a spiritual community. This is a great source of grounding peace and joy for me.
Education and Technical Skills
I've enjoyed working with computers for as long as I've enjoyed dancing. In 2004 I graduated with a PhD in computer science. Immediately there after, I began work on an extremely useful tool for computational biologists. I used my technical expertise in Fortran, Java, Perl, and graphical interface development to stream line the work flow for these scientists.
My technical skills cover SQL databases, C programming, UI development, scientific computing, Fortran, Perl, HCI (building user friendly software), HTML, CSS, the modern Java, Ruby, and Php languages and much more. The skills are many to list, it suffices to say that I can help you regardless of the computing environment you have.
